Direct Increase in Website Conversions


From the very start when Canadian Immigration Lawyers Abrams & Krochak first began working with Xcellimark to obtain leads from people who are looking to immigrate to Canada, Xcellimark was able to improve and increase their Internet leads over what they had been able to do in the past. In fact, the original landing page that Xcellimark did for Abrams & Krochak worked so much better, and converted so many more people, than their existing website, they decided to send their website traffic to the new landing page to encourage people to complete their assessment form.

Good Does Not Always Mean Good Enough


The goal of the landing page was to help inspire people to sign up for a free assessment to determine their eligibility to immigrate to Canada. The initial landing page realized an immediate increase in conversions for Abrams & Krochak so Xcellimark decided to run a second version of the landing page and test between the two to see if we could increase the number of people completing the form even more.

After running the test between the two landing pages, Xcellimark was able to boost the overall conversion rate by a whopping 62.9%!

Not convinced that we couldn’t increase the number of people requesting an immigration assessment again, Xcellimark designed another landing page to see if we could increase overall conversions even more. The third landing page once again increased conversions by another 5.9%, which yielded an overall increase in conversion rate from the first design to the 3rd design of 72.7%!

After attending a seminar put on by Xcellimark on the importance of getting better conversion rates on your website as opposed to always concentrating on gaining more traffic and visitors, Schakolad Chocolate Factory asked Xcellimark to consult with them on how to redesign their home page to encourage more online sales.

Schalolad makes delicious, award-winning European-style chocolates in many different styles and designs. From its humble beginnings with one store in South Florida, Schakolad now has 27 stores in the U.S. and 1 internationally. You can go by any of their local franchises and pick up fresh chocolate for yourself or for gifts.

But, many people didn’t realize until recently that you could also shop online at http://www.schakolad.com/ and order the same fresh chocolate, shipped directly to your home or office.

Work On Conversions & Eye Path First Before Concentrating on More Visitors


In studying the layout and design of the home page, Xcellimark realized that it was not clear that visitors could order chocolates online. In fact, when you landed on the home page, it wasn’t immediately clear where you were and what you could do on the website.

So Xcellimark worked with Schakolad to help them clearly articulate their value proposition of why visitors should buy from them. In addition, we identified areas of friction, anxiety and confusion that were occurring on the home page that could cause visitors to leave the site without engaging in online shopping. And we helped identify ways to make it very clear to a visitor that this was an e-commerce site and you could easily order chocolates online.

Since this was simply a consulting engagement, Xcellimark did not actually do the design and reprogramming of the home page. Instead, we analyzed what was working and not working on the home page and then made recommendations for the design wireframe, layout and content changes to help improve the click through rate to their online shopping cart, increase the sales conversion rate, and encourage more email signups for visitors to receive specials and coupons.

In less than 2 months after the redesign was implemented on their home page the click through rate to Schakolad’s shopping cart increased 158%. In addition, they increased their online chocolate sales per visitor by 57% over the same month last year. Their email signups increased significantly as well, allowing them to have a much larger group of interested buyers receive ongoing marketing emails.

When developing the new website, it was very important to help guide people to discover the incredible advantages of renting or buying a condo, home, or property in Gran Pacifica. With that in mind, Xcellimark developed a custom-built real estate module and a separate rental module that directs visitors to search for properties for sale or for rent.  It includes a completely customized Administrative section that lets Gran Pacifica employees easily add, delete and edit properties on their own without the need for a programmer. In addition, the site was built with a user-friendly CMS (content management system) that allows employees to easily update, edit, add or delete web pages as needed.

In addition, the amenities and infrastructure of the community were important to highlight in order to help visitors appreciate the extent to which the community was built in a style that recalls the neighborhoods we knew as children, along with new-age technology such as fiber optic cable to every home.

It was important for visitors to grasp the full benefits of the community and to help encourage them to inquire about visiting the community during a Chill Weekend, sign up to rent or buy a condo, home or property, or to simply request a copy of the Nicaraguan Handbook to learn more about the country.
