Grand Baymen Website Gets Revamped and Experiences Immediate Impact Upon Launch

Award-winning Orlando Interactive Digital Agency Xcellimark recently launched a new website for ECI Development’s Caribbean community, Grand Baymen: www.grandbaymen.com. ECI’s goals included  rebranding Grand Baymen’s property image online and generating leads from people interested in purchasing property on the Caribbean island of Ambergris Caye.

To accomplish these goals, the website features a new design, easier navigation, and enriched copy to draw visitors into the website and motivate them to discover what Grand Baymen is all about by booking a Chill Weekend.

“From the time the new website was launched, there was an immediate impact on Grand Baymen’s online image and an increase in the quantity and quality of leads generated. The redesign has increased the conversion rate of people wanting more information on the Grand Baymen community and Ambergris Caye, Belize by over 83%. Ambergris Caye is consistently listed as one of the best islands in the world on which to retire. One of the major improvements to the website was the look and feel of the site. The overall theme of the website was designed with the cultural heritage of the island in mind. From the vibrant pictures and sandy background that reflects the laid-back beach community to specific design elements sprinkled throughout the site, the essence of the island and everything Ambergris Caye represents was carried throughout the website. In addition to the lovely design, the website is also chockfull of information on things to do on Ambergris Caye.

Another way Xcellimark helped ECI rebrand Grand Baymen was by designing and implementing a search, social media and email marketing campaign. All the content on the website was optimized to help the site rank higher in the search engines for the desired key phrases, and social media profiles were set up on sites such as Twitter and Facebook to draw visitors and residents into an online community where they can interact with one another after their vacation is over.

Celebrating their 40th anniversary, DirectBuy is holding the 2011 International Sales & Service Conference in Washington D.C. and has partnered with Xcellimark for a 3rd year to redesign and develop their conference website.

Customized Programming Makes Online Registration Possible

Prior to last year’s conference in Dallas, DirectBuy and Xcellimark entered into discussions about setting up an online registration process for individuals and groups attending the conference.

Utilizing the Opensites Web Development Platform, Xcellimark tailored a database module to work exactly the way DirectBuy needed, exceeding DirectBuy’s expectations with customized programming that captures information based on multiple, inter-dependent criteria. All attendees register online with a streamlined process, even though the registration process is different depending on the person or group registering.

Simple User Interface Allows Automated Check-Ins

The check-in process was another activity that needed improving. During conversations with DirectBuy last year, Xcellimark discovered that the database structure they used did not allow them to “check-in” people at the actual event, forcing event staff to download and update Excel spreadsheets manually at the end of each day.

Xcellimark took the initiative and developed a simple user interface that provides logins to event staff, allowing them to quickly and easily check-in individuals and groups attending the conference as they arrive.

In addition, understanding the tremendous growth in mobile Internet users (predicted to be 1.7 billion by 2013), this year, Xcellimark updated Directbuy’s conference website for its 2011 event to allow attendees to view the website and register and check-in from multiple portable devices. The overall increase in productivity for DirectBuy has been a tremendous help to the company and to the success of the conference.

Casselberry Church Reveals an Updated & Redesigned Website

Xcellimark worked closely with Casselberry Church to accomplish a complete website redesign that reflects the warmth and the very hope that is their church.

Casselberry Church’s new homepage design highlights several areas of ministry that are important to the church along with a warm, welcoming message. The first three boxes on the right of the homepage reflect ongoing ministries in the church while the fourth box is changed out regularly based upon upcoming events.

Studies on church websites have shown that the page viewed the most by website visitors is the “Visitor” or “I’m New” page. Additional studies revealed that the majority of visitors to churches today viewed the website before walking through the front doors.

As a result, we emphasized the importance that visitors are to the church by creating an attractive blue banner (with a picture of the church steeple) for the homepage as well as a button in the navigation titled “I’m New.”

Finally, so as to reflect all aspects of member involvement at Casselberry Church, the homepage banner transitions between several different photos, revealing the message of openness and friendship that the church was hoping to achieve.

It was important to Casselberry Church that they update their online presence with a more modern design but without the harshness of some of the edgy websites popular today.

In response to their input, we created a website with rich colors and warm tones, a design with soft and sloping angles, all set against a backdrop of vibrant photos reflecting people from all walks of life.

A New Design Connects Missionaries with the World

Global Teams is a nonprofit Missions organization that has grown steadily in size, scope and effectiveness since its establishment in 1983. Like most nonprofit organizations, Global Teams relies on the generosity of volunteers and donors to help carry out their mission and are naturally limited in their resources or ability to establish a strong presence on the web.

In May of 2009 we were thrilled to work alongside the dedicated people of Global Teams to launch a distinctively redesigned website at www.global-teams.net, providing them an invaluable resource for their organization on an international scale.

Based on Global Teams’ unique purposes and goals, their website was developed with a creative navigational style. In addition to the traditional left to right navigation in the header, an additional short navigation down the left was established highlighting key areas of information within the site. The homepage header is a flash file transitioning between images and text that support and reflect Global Teams’ missions and objectives.

An important objective for both Global Teams and our team was to make their site cost effective by developing website pages that are easy to add, edit and manage in the administrative area of the site. Global Teams is able to add and delete urgent prayer needs, missionary information and even conceal areas of their site when missionaries are in potentially dangerous areas worldwide.

Southwest Florida Waterfront Properties Launches New Website

Xcellimark was excited to work side-by-side with Melinda and Paul Sullivan, Southwest Florida Realtors, as they launched their new website at www.southwestfloridawaterfrontproperties.com.  Working with Melinda and Paul for just  four months, Xcellimark not only designed and launched a user-friendly “front-end” interface, but designed and programmed an entire custom-made database to house multiple real-estate feeds.

One of the most important features Melinda Sullivan needed built into the website was an Administrative section that she could use to update, edit, add or delete web pages as needed. As a result, the website was built with a completely customized website management system that is user-friendly and easy to navigate even for the most inexperienced of computer users.

Another aspect of the website that makes it an original among real estate professionals is its versatility and attention to detail. Not only can users search for property listings in several different ways, but each area can be searched with very general criteria or very specific.

Another outstanding feature of Melinda and Paul’s site has to be the amount of detail included in each listing. Pricing, property description, community information, pictures, virtual tours and more are included on every listing that provides it.

Florida Payroll Launches a New Look

A few years ago, I noticed that a large fast-food chain re-modeled the interior of many of its restaurants changing them from fluorescent lights with bright colors and hard seating to more neutral colors with soft lighting and comfy seating. It wasn’t surprising to see them make this change since sitting on sofas in coffee shops had become a popular meeting place for people from all walks of life.

Like brick and mortar establishments, the internet is another area of commerce that is heavily influenced by trends, consumer usability and functionality.

Florida Payroll has responded to consumer input and trends with a beautifully redesigned site that reflects their growth and sustainability as well as their forward-thinking approach to business.

Xcellimark launched Florida Payroll’s first site in 2007 with a clean, easy to use layout designed with bright, crisp colors including scenes of Orlando. In 2009 Florida Payroll approached us again wanting to update their website design to keep it relevant, as well as to reflect their consistent growth and recent business partnerships.
