Xcellimark Co-Sponsors Client in a Toys for Tots Fundraiser

Xcellimark is excited to co-sponsor our client Panther Expedited’s annual Toys for Tots “Drive to Fill the Truck” fundraiser. Andy and Ed, the CEO and CIO of Panther Expedited, have been driving across the country picking-up and delivering freight to customers. All the proceeds gained from the shipments Andy and Ed deliver will be donated directly to Toys for Tots (follow their blog adventures here).

How Toys for Tots Got Started

Over sixty years ago, Diane, the wife of Colonel Bill Hendricks of the U.S. Marine Corp, was moved to give one of her hand-made dolls to a child in need. One evening Diane asked her husband to drop the doll off to a local organization that could provide the gift to a child for Christmas. Col. Hendricks soon realized that there was no agency in existence to which he could donate the doll; there was no organization that provided Christmas gifts to underprivileged children. And so, at his wife’s urging, Col. Hendricks began a pilot program for delivering gifts that was so successful after its first year that the Marine Corp adopted it and Toys for Tots was born.

Xcellimark Supports Toys for Tots

As part of our 12 Days of Christmas celebration at Xcellimark, our own team members collected and dropped off gifts to a local Toys for Tots drive in our small effort to benefit a child in need. It is important to us at Xcellimark that we not forget the spirit of giving that Christmas should inspire in all of us, especially to those that need it most.
