The blogging world is a vast realm, and obscurity is the biggest hurdle for most writers. Being found and read when there are so many other websites and blogs available can be extremely challenging. Luckily, with a little care, attention and research, online articles can be presented in such a way that they will find an audience of their own.
There are no hard and fast rules to content marketing, but some popular tactics include the following:
- Posting every day
- Varying content between long and short articles
- Sharing content online
- Being conversational on social media platforms
These are all great things you could do but sometimes this is not enough and a larger push is needed.
Sometimes it is best to go back to the very beginning and start again. This means sitting down and defining the goals; for example, what is the purpose of a blog post? Is it to get newsletter sign-ups, shares or as many comments as possible? Are you hoping to get more leads or customers? Once the goals have been clearly defined, it is easier to present content in the correct way while ensuring it gets in front of the right eyes.
Marketing blog posts can be difficult, particularly if they are written without any real goal in mind; however, by targeting readers, developing content and making sure industry insiders know about your content, more eyes will discover it and hopefully share it.
