4 Ways to Expand the Reach of Your Blog

In previous blog posts, we’ve covered the importance of having a blog and even how to blog effectively. By now, you probably have your very own blog up and running and that’s good for you! Keep cranking out content like a Copywriting Commando because if you write it, “they will come.”

But did you know there are other things you can do to expand the reach of your blog? Here’s a quick rundown on a few things you can do to get your blog in front of more people.

  1. TwitterFeed – this nifty third-party tool send your most recent blog posts to your Twitter account via an RSS feed. Now you never have to worry aboutBlog Marketing forgetting to share your latest blog post with the Twitterverse.
  2. Facebook Notes – provided you already have a personal profile or Facebook Fan Page, you can use Facebook’s Notes App to import your blog posts into your Facebook where they will show up on your wall. Not only is it an opportunity to find new readers, but it also encourages friends/fans to share your content with their friends on and offline.
  3. Email Sign-Up – giving people the option to sign-up for your blog via email is great, especially for people who are not online often browsing blogs. Whenever you publish a new blog post, they will be notified about it via email. From their inbox, they can then choose to go directly to your blog to read the post, forward it to a friend or print it out to read later.
  4. RSS - RSS stands for “Really Simple Syndication” and makes it possible for your readers to stay up to date on your blog without having to manually check it. Some popular RSS services include Google Reader and Bloglines.

If you put a lot of time and effort into your blog, you should get a big return on your investment in the form of more engaged readers who will retweet your blog posts, comment on your Facebook wall and share that content with their friends, sign-up for email update and subscribe to your blog.

Implementing some of the suggestions above is good start. But if you would like additional help on how to optimize your blog for the search engines and gain additional exposure, contact Xcellimark now.
